Chris Hughes


Mr. Hughes has 35 years experience in the high tech industry, and is currently President and CEO at Vangent Canada Inc.

 Throughout the course of his career, Chris has maintained a very active community service role. He has served on many private and public sector boards, and is highly dedicated to supporting young people in the community. For the past 21 years he has sat on the Board of Directors for the Youth Services Bureau, which works with young people living on the street. Chris was a founding member of the Ottawa Youth Justice Services Network, and has also served on the Board of Directors for Nepean Outreach to the World. As an active member of the United Way Impact Council on Children and Youth, Chris participates in restructuring the delivery of services to those in need. He remains a longstanding member of the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Allocation Group, which provides funds for sports programs benefiting children in the Ottawa community. Recently, Chris has brought his vast community outreach experience to the Christie Lake Kids organization, and currently serves as President of the Board.

 Chris’s other accomplishments and awards include co-founding the Terry Fox Run in Ottawa, recipient of the United Way/Centraide Volunteer Services Award, Caduceus from the Canadian Cancer Society, the City of Ottawa’s Civic Appreciation Award, and a two-time recipient of the Mayor’s Volunteer Service Award.


Bill McCloskey

Past President

Bill McCloskey’s  career spanned 38 years of civil service and involved appointments to senior positions in a number of government departments, including the Canada Revenue Agency, Department of Finance and the Privy Council Office. Throughout his career Bill served on the Board of Directors of a number organizations, among them Daybreak Non-Profit Shelter, Transparency International, United Way of Ottawa Carleton , United Way of Canada, and Catholic Family Service of Ottawa. 

Mike Dunlop

Michael Dunlop recently served on the Senior Leadership Team of UTi Wordwide a publicly traded Global Logistics Company.  In this role he provided advice and support on various strategy and leadership fronts to the Board Chair.  Previously he was President & CEO of Unigistix Inc. which was sold to UTi .  With more than 25 years of management experience, Michael has achieved significant success in growing both established and start-up companies.  He currently manages his own investment firm:  MGD Capital Corporation.

 Michael is extensively involved with various Canadian charities including Chair of the Algonquin College Foundation Board of Directors and The Algonquin College Board of Governors. .  Michael was the founding Chairperson of the Board of Governors of Canada’s Telecommunications Hall of Fame Foundation and serves on the Boards of Directors for Therapeutic Monitoring Systems Inc.


Peter Valiquet


Peter is the Customer Service Manager for Gazifiere, a natural gas distribution utility in Gatineau owned by Enbridge Inc and has been with Enbridge for more than 7 years. Before joining Enbridge, Peter worked as a management consultant as well as at the Canadian National Railway.

Holding degrees both in engineering and an MBA, Peter is passionate about his role on the board of Christie Lake Kids. Peter has also served as a board member for the Canadian Natural Gas Vehicle Alliance, and Envirocentre.

Ellen Corkery-Dooher

Ellen Corkery-Dooher is a fluently bilingual Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and leads our Ottawa-based Technology Consulting practice. Ms. Corkery-Dooher received her Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation and Her focus has been on the implementation of new service delivery models and lines of business, including business process redesign, e-business, ERP and custom system implementations.

 Ellen is personally involved in raising funds for cancer and multiple sclerosis research.  She is a member of the Human Resources Professional Association of Canada, the International Coaching Federation and the Shared Services Network.


David Poupore


David Poupore is President of Guildcrest Building Corporation, a factory-built  housing manufacturer based in Morewood, Ontario.. Prior to joining Guildcrest, David was Executive Vice-President and C.O.O. at Morewood Industries Ltd., a diversified wood products manufacturer. David heads up a number of trade associations including the Building Material Buying Co-operative and the Canadian Manufactured Housing Institute

Joanne Fox


Joanne has had an extensive career working in International Telecommunications and IT for a number of major international and Canadian companies. She currently works for Primus where she is Senior Account Executive. 

 Joanne is committed to helping children and youth in need. Her role as Board member and Human Resources Committee member with Christie Lake Kids has provides her with a sense of community. Joanne also sits on the board of the Association des Parents d’Eleves du Lycee Claudel.   


Gilles Marc Larochelle


Gilles Larochelle has been with the Ottawa Police Service for more than 25 years. Currently Deputy Chief, Patrol Operations, he oversees Criminal Investigative Services, Support Services and Emergency Operations.  A graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy and the Institute for Strategic International Studies of the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police, Deputy Chief Larochelle holds a Master of Arts in Criminology from the University of Ottawa and is the author of The History of the Ottawa Police 1826-1993.   Gilles Larochelle also serves on the board of the Ottawa Mission, la Cité collégiale.  And is a member of OACP Executive Committee for the Special Olympics Ontario.

Sherry Moran


Sherry Moran is recently retired from a career of Public Service, including the Canada Revenue Agency and Privy Council Office, Treasury Board Secretariat and the Department of Justice. Sherry is a graduate of the University of Winnipeg, Carleton University, and the University of Manitoba law school, and was called to the Ontario bar in 1983.

 Sherry has been involved in governance activities the RA Centre and Christie Lake Kids for a number of years. She has been mainly both Boards, including comprehensive policy and by-laws reviews. Human Resources Committee, and is taking an additional focus in fundraising efforts.

Andy Moran


Mr. Moran is an executive in the information technology industry with 25 years experience. He has held senior leadership positions with several leading business advisory and systems integration firms. Andy’s current position is Applications Services Executive for the Canadian Federal Government and Eastern Canada Public Sector where he is responsible for financial performance, end-to-end service delivery and overall client satisfaction. Andy holds Master of Business Administration which supports his efforts.

Andy’s community activities the annual Ottawa/Carleton United Way campaign, for which he has served as both an account executive and campaign chair

Karen is an Associate Partner with the Consulting and Deals practice in the Ottawa office of PricewaterhouseCoopers. A seasoned professional, Karen has provided consulting services to the Canadian Federal Government over the past twenty five years on various large-scale business initiatives.  Karen is a proven leader with strong interpersonal skills, skilled in team building and leading major change initiatives.  She is a dedicated and focused team player that thrives on challenge. Karen is an active member of the community, and keen to make a difference with this organization.
